 Library Bindery Toolkit
The newly released Library Binding Toolkit is now available from the Library Binding Institute (LBI).
The cost is $25.00 for LBI members and $75.00 for non-members. You can download an order form by clicking on the following link: Toolkit Order Form.

The Toolkit provides library staff with invaluable information about library binding and its critical role in preserving and protecting print collections in order to extend useful life. It has been designed to be an essential reference resource. A Working Group sponsored by LBI has worked diligently over the past 18 months to develop the Toolkit contents. The Group included library staff and library bookbinders from across the country including Laura Cameron of Stanford, Ian Bogus of Yale, David Martinelli of the University of California Library Bindery and Eric Fairfield of the HF group.

The Toolkit includes samples of materials commonly used in library binding, a copy of the Guide to the Library Binding Standard, descriptions of manufacturing processes commonly used in Library Binding, sample binding specifications and policies, and several published articles pertaining to quality binding by Werner Rebsamen, Professor Emeritus, Rochester Institute of Technology. Please review the Toolkit Table of Contents (see below) for a complete list of included materials:
